Jason Jitoboh, a former Florida reserve center, announced on Easter Sunday that he will be transferring to Tennessee State.

Simply put, Jitoboh did not have the year he wanted in 2022-23 following a nasty eye injury that kept him out of the back end of the 2021-22 season. He averaged just 3 points per game upon return after just starting to find a bit of a groove in Florida’s offense in 2021-22.

He revealed Tennessee State as his transfer destination via social media:

Jitoboh failed to meet SEC expectations across his 4 years in Gainesville. The 6-11, 300-pound center struggled to effectively rebound for the Gators, and the breakout of Colin Castleton effectively ensured he stay on the bench. He averaged just 11.5 minutes for the Gators this past season.

The Florida big man was the 5th Gator to enter the portal this offseason. The Gators earned a commitment from former Yale forward EJ Jarvis in late March.
