Jason Witten was involved with promoting the Army-Navy game on Friday, but stopped by The Paul Finebaum Show to discuss his Tennessee Vols.
Witten, the former star of the Vols and the Dallas Cowboys, said he had great appreciation for Josh Heupel and how he’s built the program.
“It’s been a long time coming,” Witten said. “College football is a better place when Tennessee’s good and relevant. What Josh has done with this team and his players, beating Alabama it’s been a long time coming. Came up just short, but they’ve got a lot to be proud of, the future’s really bright on Rocky Top. That’s a quick turnaround, from where they were 2 years ago in that league. Great coaching staff have really done a great job with their players to of going out and executing. I know they’re excited about what they can build on, going to the Orange Bowl and moving forward into next year.”
