Senior Bowl’s best player? Todd McShay gives that title to South Carolina’s Javon Kinlaw
Javon Kinlaw’s stop in Mobile for the 2020 Senior Bowl may have been a short one but he accomplished everything he needed to during his time at the event.
That’s the way ESPN’s NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay explained it during the latest episode of the “First Draft” podcast as the former Gamecock was impressive in his limited time in Mobile.
Needless to say, if NFL scouts and GMs share the same opinion as McShay, Kinlaw should be skyrocketing up the draft boards heading into the 2020 NFL Draft.
“It’s really, it’s so much easier when you’re there watching and studying the same, same drills and watching these players and they, they always seem to stand out,” McShay said on the podcast. “The guys rise to the top, if you will. Kinlaw, it was so obvious, I mean, it was so obvious that he was the best player there.
“I think his agent probably whispered in his ear and he said, ‘Okay, I’m out of here.’ And again, this is not about playing with teammates, this is not about winning for your college or going to bowl games or anything else. This is about making money and getting to the next level and putting yourself in the best position. I thought Kinlaw, probably above anyone else, there stood out.”
Here’s McShay sharing his thoughts on Kinlaw.
