Jay Bilas appeared with Rich Eisen to discuss one of the top storylines in the NBA Draft: The No. 2 pick for the Charlotte Hornets between Alabama’s Brandon Miller and Scoot Henderson.
Bilas understands that that pick will go along way toward the rest of the summer dominoes across the NBA, between free agency and the Portland Trail Blazers. But the ESPN analyst believes Miller will be picked by the Hornets, “because he can shoot it.” Bilas added that Miller’s offensive rebounding also sets him apart.
Bilas noted that Henderson has played 2 years in the G-League, and his numbers are better than Jalen Green’s were in a similar circumstance as Green was drafted No. 2 in the 2021 NBA Draft. While Henderson is 6-foot-2 or 6-3, Bilas said he has arms of a guy who’s 6-9.
“He can really attack in transition, off the dribble, playmake for himself and others, really good passer,” Bilas said. “But he hasn’t figured out the shooting piece yet. He’s not a consistent perimeter shooter.”
