Jayden Daniels expected to start in marquee matchup vs. Caleb Williams, Bears
Jayden Daniels is expected to start for the Commanders on Sunday in their NFC tilt against the Chicago Bears, according to multiple reports.
The latest intel comes from sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson, who cited a conversation with Commanders head coach Dan Quinn. Per Wolfson’s report, Daniels is going to start on Sunday barring a “last-minute setback” in pregame warmups.
Just spoke with Dan Quinn. He feels really good with where Jayden is at and how he looked in that Friday practice. He will still workout pregame but barring a last minute setback Jayden Daniels will start today. #Commanders

Daniels has been questionable throughout the week after he sustained a rib injury last week in Washington’s blowout win over Carolina. He was unable to practice with the team on Wednesday or Thursday and was listed as just a limited participant on Friday.
However, it seems Daniels will be able to tough it out as he battles Caleb Williams and the Bears on Sunday. This is a matchup of the top 2 players pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Both Daniels and Williams have been good so far this season, although Daniels has undeniably put up better numbers to this point in the year. Daniels leads the league with a 75.6% completion percentage entering Week 8 and is also averaging a respectable 8.4 yards per attempt. As a runner, Daniels has already amassed 372 yards and 4 touchdowns while leading the Commanders to a 5-2 record to start the year.
Kickoff between Chicago and Washington is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
