Jayden Daniels is having a rookie season to remember after a historic start to his NFL career. The Washington Commanders are 7-3 and right there in contention in the NFC East with the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, things aren’t all great for the former LSU star, as he is having to deal with some locker-room jokes after the Tigers were blown out by Alabama last weekend. Daniels received a gift at his locker on Tuesday, as teammate Phidarian Mathis left him some Alabama memorabilia to remind him of the game.

Mathis shared an image of the arrangement via his Instagram stories:

Mathis played his collegiate career at Alabama and was drafted by the Commanders in 2022 with the 47th pick. He has 15 tackles on the year.

During his Heisman Trophy campaign last year at LSU, Daniels and the Tigers lost to Alabama, 42-28. Daniels still put together an incredible performance. He threw for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns while rushing for 163 yards and 2 more scores.

He has carried that play to the NFL and is the front-runner for Rookie of the Year and has the Commanders right there in playoff contention. He has thrown for 2,147 passing yards, 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

Daniels faces arguably the toughest and most important game of his young career on Thursday, as the Commanders have to go to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. The Eagles are 7-2 and a half a game in front of Washington, and the winner will be in first place in the division.
