Jayden Daniels is off to a perfect start, and after Malik Nabers suffered a brief injury scare, the 2 connected on an incredible touchdown, a 26-yard catch on a fade pass over a Mississippi State safety.
Daniels is off to a 12-for-12 start passing for 115 yards and the touchdown.
Nabers, who had 4 catches on LSU’s opening drive, dealt with a right shoulder injury, and ESPN’s Katie George reported late in the first quarter that Nabers was “writhing in pain” on the bench as he was seen by athletic trainers.
The touchdown gave LSU a 10-0 lead with 3:38 left in the first quarter.
Nabers, a former Mississippi State commit who is from Youngsville, Louisiana, is coming off his best year as a Tiger with 72 receptions for 1,017 yards and 3 TDs. He led the SEC in receptions in 2022 and ranked No. 2 in the league in receiving yards.
