Jayden Daniels is on the board with his first career NFL touchdown, and it came on the ground.

The Washington Commanders turned to the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and former LSU standout as their franchise quarterback in the offseason, selecting him with the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and signing him to a 4-year, $37.75 million contract (with an option for a 5th).

Daniels hasn’t put up massive numbers as a passer thus far in his NFL debut, but his dual-threat tendencies have been on full display during the afternoon. And, late in the 3rd quarter, he capped a 6-play, 60-yard drive with a short touchdown run to pull the Commanders within 24-13 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Take a look at Daniels’ rushing touchdown below:

Commanders fans will hope that it’s the first of many for their young quarterback. They’ll also hope that the Commanders can turn things against the Bucs to improve to 1-0 on the season.

Commanders-Buccaneers is on FOX.
