Jayden Daniels has been lighting the NFL on fire as a rookie.
Daniels has surprisingly led his Washington Commanders to an early 3-1 record. The team has wins over the New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals, and Arizona Cardinals.
During the impressive stretch, Daniels has cemented himself in the NFL history books. The former LSU Tiger set a new record for the highest completion percentage through the 1st 4 games of a season in NFL history.

The impressive rookie surpassed the completion percentages of Tom Brady (2007), Geno Smith (2022), and Kyler Murray (2021) through their 1st 4 games in those respective seasons.
However, Daniels didn’t only set the completion percentage to start a season. The QB also achieved the highest completing percentage among any QB through any 4-game stretch in the NFL since at least 1950.

Against the Cardinals, Daniels completed 26 of 30 passes for 233 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. The QB also rushed for 47 yards and 1 TD in the win.
Daniels has been one of the NFL’s biggest surprises, but LSU fans are likely not surprised at all.
At LSU, Daniels was a Consensus All-American in 2023 as the QB also won the 2023 Heisman Trophy. Daniels’ 2023 season was also the 2nd-most passing yards an LSU QB has ever thrown for in a season, behind only 2019 Joe Burrow, a fellow Heisman winner.
