Jayden McGowan, former Vanderbilt WR, announces SEC commitment

Jayden McGowan is returning to his home state.
The former Vanderbilt wide receiver, who has 2 seasons of experience, announced on Wednesday a commitment to play at South Carolina after he visited the Gamecocks last weekend with reported offers from Indiana and Boston College. Special teams coordinator Pete Lembo and wide receivers coach Justin Stepp played a big role in McGowan’s recruitment, The Big Spur reported. McGowan will have 3 years to play 2 seasons with the Gamecocks.
In 2 seasons at Vanderbilt, McGowan, who is 5-foot-8 and 181 pounds, caught 80 passes for 836 yards and 3 touchdowns in 24 games played. He also returned 35 kickoffs for 845 yards and one touchdown.

McGowan is from Laurens, S.C. and is the latest addition for the Gamecocks after they received commitments from a pair of running backs this week.
