Jaydon Blue will not play for Texas as it hosts UTSA in Austin on Saturday.

Blue had 11 carries for 57 yards against Michigan State and 6 catches for 37 yards and a touchdown during a 52-0 Week 1 win. In Week 2, against Michigan, he had 9 touches for 22 yards and 3 catches for 37 yards but suffered an injury during the 1st quarter. That injury apparently hasn’t healed up enough to make him available against the Roadrunners.

Blue is coming off a sophomore campaign where he had 3 touchdowns and 398 yards on 65 carries. He also had 14 catches for 135 yards and a score. For his career, Blue has 510 yards and 3 TDs on 100 carries while catching 23 passes for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Texas and UTSA kick off from DKR Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. ET, with the game set to be televised on ESPN. The two teams have met just once on the gridiron, a 41-20 victory for the Longhorns in 2022.

As for Blue, he’ll have at least one week to get healthy.
