Jeff Driskel is on the move again.
Driskel’s agents informed NFL insiders that he has signed a one-year deal worth up to $2.5 million with the Houston Texans. Driskel joins a crowded Texans QB room with Deshaun Watson’s status unclear. In addition to Driskel and Watson, the Texans also have quarterbacks Tyrod Taylor, Ryan Finley and Davis Mills signed.
After playing at Florida 2011-14 and completing his college football career at Louisiana Tech in 2015, Driskel was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the No. 207 overall pick. Driskel was waived that fall by the 49ers as part of final roster cuts and landed with the Cincinnati Bengals. Driskel played in nine games with the Bengals in 2018 (five starts), three starts with the Detroit Lions in 2019 and three games (one start) with the Denver Broncos last season. In his NFL career, Driskel is 202-of-345 passing for 2,120 yards, 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions while rushing 53 times for 309 yards and 3 touchdowns.
