Jeffrey Lurie, the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, watched as former Alabama and Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts lead his team to the playoffs last season.
But, with the 2022 NFL Draft approaching, some are wondering if the Eagles are in the market for a new quarterback.
During the NFL’s league meeting this week, Lurie seemed to downplay that idea, saying the Eagles are committed to Hurts:

“We have a young, 23-year-old, playoff QB who gets better every year in college and in the pros,” Lurie said. “He’s had, really, one full year. No one knows where that’s going to end up, but I think what you do know is you have a guy that is incredibly dedicated, excellent leader of men. Players around him gravitate to him. He will do anything and everything to get better and work on every weakness he has to try to maximize every strength he has. And that’s why we’re committed to Jalen at age 23. Who knows what the future holds, right?”
Lurie makes a good point. The future seems to be bright for the Eagles under Hurts. Things change quickly in the NFL, of course, but for now, the team is riding with Hurts as its quarterback heading into the 2022 season.
