Report: Former Auburn QB Jeremy Johnson gets tryout with New York Giants

Former Auburn QB Jeremy Johnson will get his shot at the NFL.
While multiple former SEC players are signing free agent deals, Johnson has agreed to a mini-camp tryout this May with the New York Giants, according to 247Sports.
Johnson threw for 2,223 yards, 20 touchdowns and 11 INTs during his four-year career.

Entering his junior year (2015), Johnson was tabbed as a preseason Heisman candidate, but obviously, things just didn’t turn out the way everyone hoped. He reflected on his career following the season during an interview with AL.com.
“It was my fault,” said Johnson. “That is what it is and I leave it at that. The past is the past. Whatever questions I’m asked I’m going to answer it truthfully and I’m not here to bash nobody because it was my fault as well.
“I love coach (Gus) Malzahn, love coach (Rhett) Lashlee, they did a great job. I love being around the players. It’s a new beginning now. … The most important thing was being a man of integrity. I fell like what I’ve been through helped me become a man and mature me.”
While Johnson’s career didn’t turn out the way he was hoping on The Plains, he never complained or became a cancer in the locker room. And that’s a credit to his character.
