Georgia sophomore Lorenzo Carter has unquestioned athletic ability at outside linebacker, but it’s his practice habits that need major improvement.
Carter was demoted to second-team duties during Friday’s scrimmage, playing behind Davin Bellamy in an effort to perhaps light a fire under the former five-star prospect.
“Pruitt was mad at me,” Carter said, according to the AJC. “It lets us know that he’s going to coach us all the same, coach us hard, and if you don’t like it, then you can get out.”
Carter responded with multiple sacks against Georgia’s second-team offensive line.
Running Lorenzo Carter against the second team is unfair. They did it today anyway. Predicable results.

Carter’s still expected to play with the 1s at outside linebacker when the season kicks off. Pruitt plans on utilizing Jordan Jenkins, Leonard Floyd and Carter on the field at the same time.
Asked if it bothered him that Pruitt placed him on the second team, Carter provided this gem:
Lorenzo Carter with the quote of the day. “Fresh legs means more sacks. More sacks means more money.”
