Believe it or not, we are only a few weeks out from the start of spring football on Rocky Top.

While the basketball team is getting most of the attention in Knoxville at the moment, fans’ attention will quickly shift toward football soon enough. Jeremy Pruitt has been wise to use the success of Tennessee’s basketball program to his advantage during recruiting and he recently teamed up with Rick Barnes to provide an update on his football team with winter conditioning currently underway in Knoxville.

“I think our guys that are coming back that have been here a year have really bought in. You can see the positive impact they are having on their teammates and the freshmen that are coming in,” Pruitt said in a video released by Tennessee on Tuesday.

Looking ahead to the spring game, Pruitt is again asking for fans to show up and support the program. Tennessee’s coach hopes to not see an empty seat in Neyland Stadium when the spring game arrives come Saturday, April 13.

“Number one, we want to fill up the stands,” Pruitt said. “The best recruiting piece you got is your fans. Tradition, expectations and we are looking forward to a full game where we can compete and see what we got.”
