After the departures of David Johnson and Kevin Sherrer, Jeremy Pruitt found replacements in Jay Graham and Joe Osovet. The on-field staff is complete in numbers, but one role, special teams coordinator, has not yet been assigned. Sherrer was special teams coordinator in addition to being the inside linebackers coach.

“Well, Jay absolutely could do it, along with other guys on our staff,” Pruitt said at his National Signing Day press conference. “We have yet to really sit down and iron that out exactly. But he’s plenty capable and all of our coaches coach special teams, so we’ve got lots of guys familiar with what we’ve done in the past, and we’ll continue to use everybody in that capacity. At some point in time before spring ball, we’ll get it ironed out exactly.”

Pruitt is well-aware of Graham’s familiarity with coaching special teams. The two were on Jimbo Fisher’s Florida State staff during the 2013 season when the Seminoles won the BCS championship. Pruitt was FSU’s defensive coordinator that season while Graham was running backs coach and special teams coordinator. Graham stayed at Florida State with Fisher through 2017 and followed him to Texas A&M, coaching the Aggies running backs and special teams for the past two seasons.
