Jerry Palm believes Alabama is a No. 1 seed, but during a segment with WJOX’s 3 Man Front, the CBS Sports analyst evaluated what could cause the Crimson Tide to fall from the 1-line ahead of the NCAA Tournament.
“Well, it depends on what other teams do, it’s not really just about you,” Palm said, “they probably have to take some losses that are more upsets. Like losing to Tennessee is not necessarily the kind of thing that’s going to damage them unless they’re competing with Tennessee for a spot on that top line.”
Palm added that beyond Alabama and Tennessee, “there’s a pretty serious drop off in the SEC.” Palm said he doesn’t have an SEC seeded higher than No. 6.
“You start losing to teams like that, it’s a little bit more damaging,” Palm said. “In a pretty competitive top of the bracket there, those are the losses where you start to worry about your position in the bracket.”
