Jim Harbaugh will reportedly interview for an NFL head coaching job. The report comes days after Harbaugh released a statement saying he expected to coach Michigan in 2023.

NFL.com insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport write that Harbaugh is set to interview virtually with the Denver Broncos in the coming days. A week ago, Pelissero and Rapoport reported Harbaugh was a top target for the Broncos head coaching job. Harbaugh has been in the headlines quite a lot in the past week.

On Thursday, Harbaugh released a statement through Michigan on social media:

I am aware of the rumors and speculation over the past few days. College and NFL teams have great interest in all our personnel, from players to coaches to staff, and I truly believe that is a testament to the strength of our University of Michigan football program.

As I stated in December, while no one knows what the future holds, I expect that I will be enthusiastically coaching Michigan in 2023. I have spoken with President Ono and Athletic Director Warde Manuel and appreciate their support of me and our program. Our mission as Wolverines continues, and we are preparing for the 2023 season with great passion and enthusiasm. As our legendary coach Bo Schembechler said, “Those Who Stay Will be Champions.”

Hours after that statement was released, it was reported that the NCAA will allege numerous violations against Michigan, including a Level I violation for Harbaugh. The Level I violation is reportedly for misleading NCAA investigators about a minor violation.

It has been a dizzying week of Harbaugh headlines. We’ll see what’s next.
