Florida won’t be fully healthy as it heads into this weekend’s SEC Championship Game against No. 1 Alabama, but arguably its most important player on defense is slated to return.
During a Friday news conference, Gators coach Jim McElwain said he expected senior linebacker to suit up against the Crimson Tide. Davis, the team’s second-leading tackler with 56 stops, missed the final three regular season games with an ankle injury.

With six tackles for loss and five quarterback hurries, Davis is an integral part of a Florida defense that has been ravaged by injuries this season. His return will help the No. 15 Gators as they face the league’s best scoring offense (39.4 points per game).
Florida (8-3, 6-2) and Alabama (12-0, 8-0) will square off at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday in Atlanta.
