Former UCLA head coach Jim Mora is joining ESPN this fall, according to the AP’s Ralph Russo.
Mora will replace Chip Kelly, who ironically replaced Mora at UCLA. The former Bruins coach will be a part of ESPN2’s Saturday studio show, hosted by Chris Cotter. Kelly was featured in multiple areas on ESPN, including Sunday mornings with Paul Finebaum.
Mora, 56, was fired after 11 seasons at UCLA (46-30 overall record). He does have experience in broadcasting. Following his dismissal by the Seattle Seahawks in 2009, Mora joined the NFL Network as a commentator. He also served as a color analyst for FOX Sports in 2010.
At some point, Mora will likely return to coaching. He’s been a head coach for the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks and UCLA Bruins.
