“All camp has been evaluated, and at the end of camp, we have to make a choice. That was it,” Fisher said Monday.
Weigman gets the starting job over Max Johnson, who spent 2 seasons at LSU and threw for nearly 4,000 yards before joining the Aggies last year. Johnson played in 4 games for Texas A&M last season, picking up 517 yards and 3 touchdowns before a hand injury sidelined him for the rest of the season.
Fisher is now looking for the same kind of play he saw from Weigman last season, which was being smart with the ball and playing like a leader.
“Just keep playing great football with great decision-making and great accuracy with toughness and leadership and the ability to help other players on the field,” Fisher said.
