No. 5 Texas A&M faced plenty of adversity Saturday but found a way to do just enough to escape with a 10-7 win over Colorado at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.

The Aggies lost starting quarterback Haynes King in the opening quarter, struggled throughout the game on offense, and had what looked to be the go-ahead touchdown overturned in the 4th quarter.

Things certainly looked bleak for the better part of 57 minutes, but back-up quarterback Zach Calzada’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Spiller with 2:41 to play in the game allowed Texas A&M to survive.

Calzada, who replaced the injured King, completed 18-of-38 passed for 183 yards and the game-winning score, while the Aggies defense was effective throughout the game, allowing just 260 total yards.

Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher was relieved to escape with a win but he also knows that his team still has a long way to go.
