Over the years, coaches, athletic directors and school presidents have shared their thoughts on renewing Texas A&M’s rivalry with Texas. With Texas officially moving to the SEC, it’s now a matter of “when” not “if” the Aggies and Longhorns will meet again on the gridiron.
Jimbo Fisher shared his excitement about the rivalry’s coming renewal on Wednesday night during his radio show, per TexAgs.

This summer, the SEC officially invited Texas and Oklahoma to join the SEC in July 2025. There has been plenty of speculation, however, that the Longhorns and Sooners will join the conference at an earlier date. Whether 2025 or earlier, Fisher will likely be coaching in College Station. Fisher signed an extension through Dec. 31, 2031, in August.
