Jimbo Fisher faces heavy backlash at Ole Miss: ‘Poorly coached. Uninspired. Unprepared. Underachieving.’

Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M got off to a rough start at Ole Miss on Saturday as it appeared the road woes would continue.

The Aggies fell behind 14-0, and without a blocked field goal returned for a 68-yard touchdown, they would find themselves in a larger hole. But fortunately for the Aggies, they got that and another late touchdown to pull within a score.

The last time Fisher and the Aggies won a true SEC road game — not including the neutral-site Southwest Classic against Arkansas — was Oct. 16, 2021. A&M beat the Missouri Tigers 35-14 that day in Columbia.

The Aggies midway through the 2nd quarter had just 59 total yards with 3 first downs, compared to 15 for Ole Miss. Ainias Smith was bottled up for just 1 carry for 11 yards. Of course, it didn’t help that Texas A&M missed 3 key players who were ruled out of the game. It also was salt in the wound for Fisher, who has a well-documented feud with Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin.

Some fans considered it a Fisher problem, while others described it as systemic to the Aggies, and that the next coach would have the same struggles.

One fan said Fisher shouldn’t return with the team to College Station.

“Not motivated. Poorly coached. Uninspired. Unprepared. Underachieving,” the fan wrote. “Do not let Jimbo Fisher on the plane back to College Station. You just can’t.”
