Jimbo Fisher and Bobby Petrino seem to be getting along well. At least that’s how Fisher made it sound on Saturday.

Texas A&M hired Petrino to be its offensive coordinator back in January. Petrino replaced Darrell Dickey who took an assistant role on Kirby Smart’s staff at Georgia.

Fisher went as far to say he gets along with the Aggies OC better than anyone he’s ever coached with.

“He and I have gotten along better than anybody I’ve ever coached with because we understand each other,” said Fisher.

Petrino was last a head coach at Missouri State from 2020-2022. He has also been the HC at Arkansas (2008-2011), Western Kentucky (2013), and Louisville (2014-2018).

Texas A&M finished towards the bottom of the SEC in total offensive yards per game last season. The Aggies averaged 360.7 total offensive yards per game, which ranked 12th in the conference.

If Petrino can have the offense do better than last season’s numbers, then the Texas A&M OC and Fisher should have no problems in getting along.

Fisher will be looking for a rebound after finishing the year at 5-7 in 2022. The 2023 season starts against New Mexico on Sept. 2.

Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
