Jimbo Fisher: If recruits don’t sign with Texas A&M, it’s on them

Jimbo Fisher is very confident in what his new school has to offer. In fact, he’s blaming any recruiting misses on the players themselves.

“Listen, you’re not gonna get ‘em all … some guys are going to make bad decisions,” Fisher said at the TexAgs Preseason Kickoff.

Fisher has obviously been a college football coach long enough to know a lot goes into a recruit’s decision. To be clear, no one is going to criticize him for giving the fans some red meat.

As many Aggies fans are aware, Fisher has plenty of reasons to be speaking with some swagger, especially when it comes to recruiting. He regularly signed highly rated classes at FSU and is on track to do the same at Texas A&M. TAMU’s recruiting class, made of 22 pledges, including 10 4-star recruits and a 5-star, is currently ranked No. 2 nationally (as well as in the SEC) on the 247Sports Composite. The Aggies trail only Alabama in the recruiting rankings.

Of course, if a few Texas A&M targets currently committed elsewhere realize their mistakes, the rankings could change. It’s still a long ways to go until Signing Day.
