Jimbo Fisher says sophomore Texas A&M running back may never play football again

This offseason, Texas A&M sophomore RB Vernon Jackson suffered a neck injury.
Now, it appears that neck injury has ended up costing Jackson his football career, according to comments made by coach Jimbo Fisher on Wednesday during his radio show.
Per TheEagle.com, Fisher said Jackson will “probably never play again.” He added that Jackson will join the coaching staff as a student-coach:
“He wanted to be in coaching,” Fisher said on the radio show. “He is a tremendous human being, and we want him to be a part of our team, so he’s becoming a student-coach and learning all the things you have to do to be that.”
The report states that Jackson is still taking a medical redshirt this season. Jackson had 49 yards on 7 carries in one game last season.
