Jimbo Fisher knew there wasn’t a pay off to risk being more aggressive at the end of the 1st half, and explained as much to Jenny Dell of CBS Sports. The Aggies led Alabama 17-10 at halftime.

“There was no sense (in a timeout),” Fisher said. “We’re backed up on our 20, they’ve got 3 timeouts left, so in case you have to punt or or give them a chance to get it back. No sense in making a mistake.”

After a sluggish start, A&M grabbed the lead over the Crimson Tide again late in the 2nd quarter when Le’Veon Moss scored on a short run. Max Johnson was 8-for-14 passing in the 1st half for 151 yards and a TD.

“I just think we kept playing the next play, don’t worry about, had a couple opportunities early, wish we could have scored touchdowns, but we just kept playing the next play,” Fisher said. “And defense made it to the end; they had a couple deep balls, got our composure back on defense, got pressure back on the quarterback. We got some continuity with Max, Max got some rhythm, started getting the ball out, hit a couple big 3rd downs and got the ball to our playmakers.”
