In 2019, Miami selected Bleday, that season’s SEC Player of the Year, with the No. 4 overall pick in the MLB Draft. After helping the Commodores win the 2019 College World Series, Bleday signed with the Marlins.
Bleday didn’t need too long in the minors before getting called up to the show. He joined the Marlins on Saturday in Pittsburgh, making his debut off the bench.
Marlins fans can expect this to be the first of many home runs for Bleday. In his final season with the Vandy Boys, Bleday hit 27 home runs with 72 RBI in 71 games.
