Joe Burrow becomes just 7th QB in FBS history to throw 50 TDs in a season

Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow is making Oklahoma’s defense look somewhat pedestrian in the College Football Playoff semifinal game.
Burrow has already thrown his 49th and 50th touchdown pass of the season, and the LSU quarterback became just the seventh quarterback in FBS history to hit that benchmark.
Burrow joined the short list of Dwayne Haskins of Ohio State, Colt Brennan of Hawaii, David Klingler of Houston, B.J. Symons of Texas Tech, Derek Carr of Fresno State and Sam Bradford of Oklahoma as the only FBS quarterbacks ever to reach the 50-touchdown mark.
That’s quite the accomplishment for the Heisman winner, who has already set the SEC record for passing yards and passing touchdowns in a season.
What’s left for Burrow to accomplish in this game? Aside from just winning, the Tigers signal caller can surpass 5,000 passing yards in a season.
The LSU Tigers lead the Oklahoma Sooners 14-7 in the first quarter of the Peach Bowl. The winner advances to the national championship game against either Ohio State or Clemson.
