Joe Burrow has called off plans to purchase a replica ‘Batmobile’ following a home invasion last December.
Burrow’s home was burglarized while he was playing against the Dallas Cowboys in 2024. The case led to multiple arrests and ultimately changed Burrow’s mind about purchasing a multi-million dollar Batmobile. Burrow addressed the incident on Netflix’s Quarterback series, which was released on Tuesday.
“I didn’t end up getting the Batmobile because I just had other things I wanted to deal with at that point,” Burrow said on the show, via ESPN.
Burrow previously spoke about the pending Batmobile purchase on last year’s in-season edition of Hard Knocks, but ultimately decided against it. Ironically, Joe Buck mentioned the Batmobile during ESPN’s broadcast of Bengals vs. Cowboys on the night his home was burglarized.
The former LSU quarterback also said he’s considered moving due to the public nature of the burglary and the resulting case.
“We’ll see if I end up moving or not,” Burrow said on the Netflix show. “Now the whole world knows where I live now. But that hasn’t been very fun to deal with.”
Burrow appears in the Netflix series alongside Kirk Cousins and Jared Goff. In Season 1 of the show, Netflix focused on Cousins, Patrick Mahomes and Marcus Mariota.
Burrow is preparing for his 6th NFL season with the Cincinnati Bengals. Last year, he threw for a career-high 4,918 yards and 42 touchdowns. He also led the entire NFL in both of those categories during the regular season.
