In a season with multiple national championship contenders and elite Heisman contending quarterbacks in nearly every Power Five conference, LSU’s Joe Burrow may be the hottest college football player in the country.

His LSU Tigers are still undefeated, and claimed the top spot in the AP Poll after a 23-20 win over No. 9 Auburn where Burrow went 32 of 42 for 321 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Burrow leads the country in completion percentage, converting on 78.8% of his pass attempts. It may surprise you, however, that Burrow’s percentage also tops college football history’s list.

Burrow is one spot ahead of Colt McCoy, who completed 76.7% of his passes at Texas in 2008. He is not alone, given that four of the top six on the list are currently playing in the 2019. Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, Wisconsin’s Jack Coan, and Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts are all on Burrow’s heels.

In two weeks, LSU and Alabama will meet in Tuscaloosa for a No. 1 vs No. 2 matchup.

Could we be watching a game between two of college football’s most efficient quarterbacks ever?
