The Cincinnati Bengals offensive line received an… unusual set of gifts from quarterback Joe Burrow this past Christmas.

The former LSU quarterback makes a habit of gifting his offensive line with uniquely themed gifts each Christmas. Last year, he bought the Bengals O-line samurai swords. This year, he one-upped himself and bought the entire O-line authentic dinosaur, mammoth and bear fossils.

According to ESPN’s Ben Baby, Burrow invited his offensive line to his house where there was a display of several different fossils waiting for them. The unit was then able to pick out their desired fossil. Veteran members of the O-line got first dibs, working their way through the line based on the number of seasons they’ve played with the Bengals.

“I think it speaks to his intelligence and interests and his desire to do something unique,” Bengals center Ted Karras told ESPN. “I thought it was really special.”

Obviously, it’s been a less than ideal season for Burrow and the Bengals. Burrow suffered an injury at the start of the year that held him out of most of the regular season. Because of this, Cincinnati struggled mightily; Burrow has won 4 of his 6 games started this season, but Cincinnati is 1-8 in games without Burrow under center.

The Bengals and Burrow worked out an extension at the start of the 2023 season that pays him $275 million across 5 years. Unless Cincinnati decides to trade him, Burrow will be looking to reload and make the Bengals true contenders for a Super Bowl once again next season.
