All of Cincinnati and Baton Rouge, Louisiana held their collective breaths just a few weeks ago when star QB Joe Burrow was carted off the field following a calf injury.

Thankfully, Burrow did not suffer a season-ending injury as some online speculated. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor simply said Burrow will miss a few weeks and refused to go into further detail, electing to keep his cards close to the chest ahead of the 2023 season.

Friday, prior to Cincinnati’s preseason matchup against the Green Bay Packers, Taylor told reporters that Burrow is progressing “as he should, though he did not provide a specific timetable.

“I think things are good and he’s progressing as he should,” Taylor said, via ESPN.

Burrow, as any football fan knows, is one of the most irreplicable players in the league. The former Tiger has done uber-impressive things since winning the 2019 national title at LSU, including a Comeback Player of the Year title, a Pro Bowl and a Super Bowl appearance in just 3 NFL seasons.

Entering Year 4, Burrow has thrown for 11,774 yards with 82 touchdowns and 31 interceptions.
