Joe Burrow was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, going to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Normally, when a guy goes No. 1 overall, the team he goes to is facing a massive rebuilding project. Well, it’s safe to say the Bengals are ahead of schedule on that front.

With Cincinnati taking down Tennessee on Saturday, the Bengals are off to the AFC Championship Game. That means Burrow is the first quarterback taken No. 1 overall to ever make a conference title game in Year 1 or Year 2, per SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic:

Win or lose in the AFC title game next weekend, the Bengals are way ahead of schedule with their rebuild under Burrow.

Burrow will be a popular preseason MVP pick in 2022, also.
