Joe Burrow says Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss before CFP run is ‘not ideal’
While Lane Kiffin may currently be fairly beloved by the residents of Baton Rouge, his popularity pales in comparison to that of Bengals quarterback and LSU legend Joe Burrow.
And so naturally, reporters in Cincinnati asked the recently-returned signal caller about his thoughts on Kiffin being hired by the Tigers program this past weekend.
Following a long pause of mulling over his thoughts — with a shrug thrown in for good measure — Burrow kept his answer simple.
“I think he’s a good coach,” Burrow said with another shrug. “I guess we’ll just see how it goes. And those are my thoughts.”
Reporters asked if the Bengals’ star was ever recruited by Kiffin–to which he replied in the negative–before the subject matter shifted to Ole Miss’ impending College Football Playoff run. Burrow first asked if the Rebels were indeed going to quality for the CFP, and then also if the entire coaching staff was leaving Oxford.
Upon receiving answers to both inquires, Burrow expressed his brief thoughts.
“Certainly not an ideal situation for a playoff run, that’s for sure,” Burrow said.
Burrow and the Bengals are currently gearing up for a matchup with the Bills on Sunday, with that game set for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff from Buffalo.
