Joe Moorhead recently announced that he expects to have a new OC locked in at Mississippi State around the start of 2018.
Moorhead was hired as the new head coach of the Bulldogs, and he has already produced a solid early signing period for MSU. As the current team of Bulldogs prepares for Louisville in the TaxSlayer Bowl, Moorhead made an appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show to discuss the program.
During the Wednesday discussion, Moorhead indicated that he expects to be locked into a new OC by Jan. 2. ESPN’s Peter Burns shared his comments:
.@HailStateFB Coach @BallCoachJoeMo just told us on @finebaum he expects to be locked into a new OC by January 2nd.

While it remains speculation at this point, it should be noted that such a timeline would match with a report from Football Scoop that Moorhead is targeting Green Bay Packers assistant Luke Getsy. The Packers complete their season Sunday.

Moorhead indicated in his introductory press conference that he intends to handle the offensive playcalling, but he did say he will have a coordinator in place. It will be interesting to see who he hires and how that relationship develops with the Bulldogs.
