Joel Klatt released a mock draft this week and the FOX Sports analyst has explained why he has certain players going off the board when they do.

Case in point is Georgia’s Jalen Carter.

“I believe that Seattle and Detroit could very easily take Jalen Carter,” Klatt said. “The problem is there’s a lot of red flags with Jalen Carter. There are. Now his talent might supercede those, if that’s the correct term. Or his talent may outweigh the red flags for some organizations.”

Klatt cited the drag racing incident that Carter was involved with, and that Carter’s Pro Day went “horribly wrong” as he weighed in 9 pounds heavier.

Because of the culture in Detroit led by Dan Campbell, Klatt said the Lions will pass on Carter, and he will be picked at No. 9 by the Bears.

“I don’t think Dan Campbell wants to take a flyer on a guy that might not be great in the locker room,” Klatt said.
