The LSU Tigers‘ firing of head coach Brian Kelly over the weekend sent shockwaves through the sport, with fans and pundits alike speculating over who the next person to take the job will ultimately end up being.

Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt made headlines earlier this week when he suggested that the Tigers reach out to a couple of former legendary head coaches in Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.

Klatt suggested that LSU make the former National Championship-winning head coaches both “say no” to the job, and he also just revealed the man the Bayou Bengals should call next if both Meyer and Saban turn down their offer.

“I think the next call is going to be Dan Lanning,” Klatt said. “He obviously has a past in the SEC, and he’s been successful there as a coordinator of the national championship-winning Georgia Bulldogs in 2021. He recruits well out of the portal, he recruits well out of high school, he’s got great energy. Like Dan Lanning is a home run, so he’ll get a call, and Oregon will probably have to match a $15-million a year offer. I think that’s where LSU is going to be if they’re talking to Meyer, or Saban, or Lanning,”

After Lanning, Klatt said Lane Kiffin should be the fourth call.
