It’s been a busy Saturday for the Arkansas coaching staff. The Razorbacks announced an extension for Bret Bielema in the morning. That was followed by a report that running backs coach Joel Thomas will be leaving Arkansas for the same position with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints.

Thomas’ departure comes less than a month after he signed an extension with the Razorbacks. Thomas was given the raise after coaching the nation’s only 1,000-yard rushing duo, Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams.Â
RB coach Joel Thomas has signed an extension with Arkansas. He gets a $35K raise to $280K annually. His deal now runs through June 20, 2016.
