In-state receiver John David White turns down several scholarship offers to walk-on at Arkansas

It’s not often you see a prospect with so many scholarship options walk-on at a school but John David White didn’t have it in him to leave home and when the flagship program of Arkansas came calling, he came running.
The Pulaski Academy standout receiver committed to Arkansas on Monday night as a preferred walk-on but has the potential to blossom into a real find for the Razorbacks. After hauling in 86 receptions for 1,732 yards and 30 touchdowns as a high school senior, White earned scholarship offers Air Force, Arkansas State and Central Arkansas, among others, but has decided to play in Fayetteville as a walk-on.
White announced the news on Twitter with the following comments:
“Been a Hog ever since I could walk. Now Razorback Nation—WATCH ME RUN! I am 100% committed to Coach Morris, Coach Stepp, Coach Craddock, Coach Lunney, and mostly to the great state of Arkansas! #WeHawgs #HammerDown”
Considering Chad Morris and his staff have a history of developing receivers, there’s no doubt White could one day turn into a real contributor in Fayetteville. It’s also worth noting that White was a high school teammate of Arkansas tight end commit, Hudson Henry.
