John Metchie injured his leg near the end of the first half of the SEC Championship Game against Alabama.
It was a non-contact injury, as he was stopping and planting during his route, and Metchie went down holding his leg. He left the game before halftime, and he didn’t play in the second half.

Metchie is one of Alabama’s biggest weapons, and he finished with 6 catches for 97 yards and 1 touchdown against Georgia’s defense. Metchie has recorded over 1,000 yards in 2021 for the Tide’s offense.
Following the win over Georgia, Nick Saban was asked about Metchie’s injury and his availability for the College Football Playoff.
