Johnny Bowens, 4-star DL from Texas, names final 3 teams

Johnny Bowens has narrowed it down to 3 options as the 2023 recruiting cycle winds down.
Bowens, a blue-chip defender out of Texas, is either staying close to home or heading west. Texas, Texas A&M and Oregon are the 3 finalists to land Bowens’ commitment.

Bowens, a Judson standout, is listed at 6-3, 265 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Bowens is rated 4-stars, the No. 41 defensive lineman, No. 54 Lone Star State recruit and No. 295 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023.
On Dec. 25, 2021, Bowens pledged to play for Jimbo Fisher’s program. He reopened his recruitment in June, but still showed interest in Texas A&M.

During his recruitment, Bowens has picked up 11 scholarship offers. The Early Signing Period begins in December. Prospects can also early enroll for the January semester or wait to sign on or after February’s National Signing Day.
