Snapping a two-game losing streak, the Oakland Raiders topped the Detroit Lions, 31-24, on November 3 at the RingCentral Coliseum.

Getting back to the .500 mark at 4-4 with the win, rookie tailback Josh Jacobs led the way for the Raiders with 120 yards and two scores on 28 rushes.

Ranking seventh in the league with 740 yards on the ground, Jacobs has caught the eye of his head coach, Jon Gruden.

“This kid is really good,” Gruden simply stated during his Monday press conference.

“As he continues to develop in the passing game, he’s going to be great. I think one of the best. He makes a lot of hard yards, tough three, tough four-yard gains. And he’s elusive, he’s powerful and he’s an Oakland Raider. We’re happy about that.”

A product of McLain High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jacobs was a three-star prospect in the 2016 class. Committing to Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide over Iowa State, Missouri and others, he racked up 1,491 yards on 251 attempts (5.9 AVG) during his three years in Tuscaloosa.

Selected by the Raiders with the 24th overall pick in April’s NFL Draft, he is now the betting favorite to win the league’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award at -125.

Oakland hosts the Los Angeles Chargers (4-5) on Thursday Night Football on November 7. Kicking at 8:20PM ET, the game will air on the NFL Network.
