Joe Moorhead recently added to his Mississippi State with the addition of a former Tennessee GA.
Jon Shalala announced his departure from Rocky Top and his arrival in Starkville recently on Twitter, without specifying his role for Mississippi State. SDS has confirmed that Shalala will serve as a defensive quality control assistant, working primarily with the inside linebackers for the Bulldogs.
It’s a move that makes sense, as Shalala spent time in Knoxville along with current Mississippi State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop. Once again, the two will be working on the same team, in 2019.
Shalala also has coaching experience with Arizona Western College and Iowa Barnstormers of the professional indoor football league.
Thank You Tennessee for 3 Great Years! I could not have asked for a better experience. I am excited for my next journey! #HailState #VFL pic.twitter.com/ToQ5jJZAmc
