Jonathan Paylor, 4-star Gamecock target for 2024, reveals group of finalists

Jonathan Paylor is a 4-star prospect and one of the top athletes in the country for the 2024 recruiting class. A key target for Shane Beamer’s South Carolina program, Paylor released his group of final 5 teams on Tuesday.
Fortunately for Beamer’s squad, the Gamecocks are still in the mix. UNC and NC State — in-state options for Paylor — are included, along with Penn State and Maryland from the B1G.

Paylor is listed at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds out of Hugh M. Cummings High School in Burlington, North Carolina. Per the 247 Sports Composite, Paylor is a 4-star recruit and the 11th ATH nationally for the 2024 recruiting class. He’s also the No. 2 player from North Carolina and the 146th player in the country.
Paylor is a playmaker and has lined up in the backfield and as a wide receiver in high school. He has taken official visits to UNC, Maryland, NC State and South Carolina in June.
We’ll see who eventually lands Paylor’s commitment, but the Gamecocks are in a solid position after Paylor’s visit.
