Tennessee tight end Jordan Allen announced on Wednesday that he’s transferring from the program.
The redshirt senior Allen revealed the decision to enter the transfer portal via Twitter:
“I’m grateful for my time at Tennessee. I have a lot of love for my teammates, the University, and the fans. I can call myself a graduate from The University of Tennessee for life! Also I have a lot of respect for Coach P and wish him nothing but success in the future. With that being said, I have entered the transfer portal and am looking to finish my last two years at another school as a tight end/receiver. Looking forward to the future!”
For his final two seasons of eligibility, Allen is pursuing the opportunity to be cast as a wide receiver or tight end. Allen lined up at linebacker and tight end during his time at Tennessee after arriving from junior college.
Allen didn’t play last season due to injury. In 2018, Allen amassed six tackles in nine games. The Fairfield, CA native previously played for UC Davis and City College of San Francisco.
Tennessee (2-6) will look to snap a six-game losing streak when they travel to face winless Vanderbilt (0-8) on Saturday (4 p.m./SEC Network).
