Jordan Phillips, who spent a season with Tennessee before entering the transfer portal, has announced his destination for 2023. He will head to the B1G to play for Mike Locksley at Maryland, he revealed on his Twitter account on Wednesday.

Phillips, a 3-star recruit from Ocoee, Fla., signed out of the class of 2022. He was credited with a tackle while appearing in 3 games. Now, he’ll head to the Terrapins, where he’ll look to make an impact on their defensive line. He will have 4 years of eligibility remaining, having appeared in fewer than 4 games and therefore qualifying for a redshirt.

Maryland is coming off a 7-5 record, including a 4-5 mark in the B1G that was good for a 4th-place finish in the conference’s East division. It will play NC State in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Dec. 30 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The Terrapins are in a bowl for the 2nd straight season under Locksley, who is 20-28 overall and 11-27 in the B1G.
