Jordan Rodgers feels confident in the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide at every position, except for quarterback. The former Vanderbilt quarterback and SEC Network analyst talked on Thursday night about how the quarterback question could be the one roadblock to another championship for Alabama.

“I think this Alabama team is built to win a national championship everywhere except quarterback right now. Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, Tyler Buchner, the transfer from Notre Dame. I’m going to be calling that game on Saturday night. I think we might see all 3 of them, but what this quarterback position needs to be this year for Alabama, is not a Bryce Young, it needs to be a game manager. They’re so talented at wide receiver. They’re so talented at running back. They have a dominant big offensive line. I think they reloaded on defense, I’m intrigued.”

Milroe is the only quarterback to have starting experience for Alabama. Buchner played in multiple games for Notre Dame and started 3 games for the Irish last season. Simpson is the only quarterback without starting experience at the collegiate level, but possesses the strongest arm.

Milroe is expected by several analysts to be the starting quarterback for Alabama when it kicks off the 2023 season at home versus Middle Tennessee on Saturday.
